REcord, REplay Your Lifestyle Moments with RE Camera, powered by HTC

"Focus on the moment, not your camera."

Built to fit your life. Designed to fit your hand.
It's HTC's newest innovative invention tailored for our lifestyle, the RE Camera.

Yeah, I know, it looks like an inhaler especially when I turn it upside down. I get that from everyone around me who sees me using this little device that makes a soft spraying sound whenever I click it.

"What is that?"

"Are you spraying something into the air?"

"It's cute!"

"Oh, is it some spy cam?"

It's a CAMERA!

I'm here to give you my unbiased reviews as an honest blogger and I've to say, ever since I got my hands on the RE, it's with me almost everywhere I go.

The RE sits snugly either in my make up pouch or my handbag's side pocket so when I see something I want to capture, I just whip it out and click.

It's as light as a feather which is definitely a plus point because I have so many things in my bag, and don't forget the helmet I'm already carrying around? Yeah.

The RE design fits to seamlessly in my hands, and allows me to capture photos/videos without any distraction that sometimes (really) I forget that it's even there.

Taken with my RE camera on my flight
As they say, never judge a book by it's cover. The RE may be tiny, but it definitely delivers more than it looks. Take a picture, a video, and even time lapse or slow motion. The RE can do it all with just one lens, one button.

It's so tiny, almost the size of a lipstick, yet it is equipped with a 16MP camera that it able to capture HD videos.

Taken with my RE camera at MotoGP 2014
It has a 146° wide angle lens to make sure nothing gets missed out. During video recordings, the RE does the basics but does not have a stabalizer so it's not so ideal for sports use as the video may turn out jerky compared to an action camera like Drift or GoPro. It records defined sound quality though. In low light, the RE still captures pretty good pictures with minimal noise.

It's WATERPROOF (no additional housing needed).

Cool factor - The RE doesn't have a power button because it turns on by touch sensor! This prolongs your RE battery life because the minute you ain't holding it, it goes to sleep mode and comes back alive the second you hold it.

RE Accessories

You can opt to purchase the additional accessories such as the mount kit, or mini-tripod to shoot a time lapse video.

RE App

You can view, share, and store your RE footage in your phone via the RE app. Yes, it's free.

Connect the RE to your phone easily with the RE App via WiFi and Bluetooth, compatible for both iOs and androids where the photos and videos captured are instantly streamed and synced into your phone.

Taken with my RE camera by controlling it from a distance away with my HTC Butterfly 2 phone

Via the RE app where I pair my phone and the RE together, I can also control it even if it's placed a distance away (as long as it can still connect via Wifi & Bluetooth) and snap on!

It also has a Timer function which allows me to get into position before the photo is captured.
It's that convenient.

Using a camera doesn’t get any easier than this.
Yours at only $348.

My Touring Companion - Dainese Gortex Zima Womens Jacket

Men need their protection, that's for sure (hahaha).
But Women do too! In fact, even more so.

For a guy, every scar is like up one level of macho-ness.

For a girl, every scar is like up one level of fugly-ness.

Some people say " If you're so afraid of scars, then don't ride a bike."
How retarded is that?

Riding a bike doesn't mean you have to fall and be scarred for life.
Ever heard of riding with protection? :)

Walk into any motorcycle gear / apparel shop and you'll find a wide selection of jackets, pants, gloves etc for guys. But how about the ladies?

Well, due to the lack of demand here in Singapore, there are very few gears for female riders/pillions in ready stock. If you want something, you'll have to place an order and it only comes in after about a month? That's a pretty long wait.

Great thanks to JR Pte Ltd, the official distributor for Dainese Singapore, I promptly got my hands on the latest GORE-TEX® Zima Women Riding Jacket, targeted and highly recommended for Touring!

It's always good to be reminded that "Safety is not an option".

Traveling at fast speeds over long distances and hours, you definitely want to ensure you are properly protected in every way possible. When you know you are safe, you'll ride in confidence and your ride will definitely be more enjoyable.

What is GORE-TEX®?
It's waterproof, windproof, yet very breathable! Super.
This material is widely used in sports and outdoor clothing.

What is Mugello fabric?
High resistance to wear and tear, significantly extending the life span of the jacket and also gives the wearer a higher level of comfort with it's capacity to expand and return to it's original form.

Incorporating these two materials into constructing the jacket, we (ladies) almost have the best of both worlds ;) The jacket fits snugly yet no restriction of movement is observed.

Adjustable Neck Strap
Yessss! No more rain water dripping down my neck!

Tailor-Made
With quite a few adjustable points, mainly the waist, upper arms and back area, the Zima jacket feels so customized.

Amours
Without needing to say, shoulder and elbow armours are compulsory to shield you from a fall.

Waterproof Pockets
Hooray! No need crumpled ziplock bags anymore, we can be assured that our passports/handphone/other valuables in there will remain dry.

Thermal Lining
The Zima jacket comes with a removable thermal lining too, for colder weather conditions.

Sleekly designed with a feminine cut yet retaining the technical protection aspects of the male jacket, the Dainese Gortex Zima Jacket ($749) makes it perfect for touring.

I wore it when I rode up to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia and through the sun, rain, winds, the jacket was everything it promised to be and touring has never been that comfortable, really. Super love it!

Definitely looking forward to my next, and next, and next next next next touring rides in confidence!

PIRELLI Diablo Rosso II Tyre Media Launch - Pattaya, Thailand

In RS Taichi Slim Fit Full Leather suit
Fly to Thailand with me this December 2014, for the launch of Pirelli's sportiest and most versatile road tyres in the Rosso generation - The Diablo Rosso II.

Proudly sponsored by Pirelli and Hodaka Motoworld, the main distributor for Pirelli tyres in Singapore.

Pattaya Beach
Pattaya sits on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand, about 100km southeast of Bangkok where most tourists retreat in it's beach resorts and sea sports.

Apart from the beach and bikini babes watch, I was flying to Pattaya to test out the new Diablo Rosso II Tyres mainly for 250/300CC bikes held at Bira International Circuit, Thailand.

Flying by Thai Airways

Day 1: Singapore - Bangkok, Thailand - Pattaya

With barely any sleep as I couldn't contain the excitement for the trip, off I went! Along with crew from The New Paper and Motor Culture Asia, we took a 2 hour flight by Thai Airways followed by a 2 hour coach to Pattaya.

Holiday Inn Pattaya
Checked in at Holiday Inn Pattaya where we were warmly greeted by the Pirelli crew and given a media kit!

My hotel room
Room with Sea view
The hotel was so niceee. I was tired (having not enough sleep), but I'm refreshed by my delightful spacious hotel room with sea view!

Can't you tell, these all belongs to a girl? ;)
I didn't have to unpack my luggage because the minute I unzipped it, everything exploded out.

Welcome to my girly wardrobe
My RS Taichi Slim Fit Leather Suit, Arai Full Face Helmet, Falco boots, shoes, heels, dresses, make up blah blah blah. Oh did I mention? This was only a 3 day trip. Ha!

Petrol kiosk and the services provided
Since we had some spare time, we decided to rent a small motorcycle to explore the area as the rental rate was cheap at only 200 baht for 24 hours (SGD $8).

We rode around on this sunny day, sipping sodas and munching on street foods before heading back to the hotel to rest.

Day 2 : Bira International Circuit

Media Press Room
Morning started early at 8am, as we reached Bira International Circuit where the Pirelli team prepared us for the media briefing.

It was the official launch of the all new Diablo Rosso II tyres specially catered to smaller 250/300CC bikes that is widely used as a transport in Asia.

Leopard to Biker
After the detailed introductory done by Pirelli (which I will share as you read on in the blog), everyone was excited as it's time for the tyre testing track session, to judge it's true performance.

Knee down on a street bike with street tyres
Seeing many eager-to-race faces, the Pirelli guys constantly reminded us that the bikes for testing are NOT race bikes. Haha!

Ready? Ready!
Safety first with safety gears! Suit up, boys and girls.

Flag off for the first group - Fast riders
All the camera and media crew are on standby, as the flag off for the first group of riders begins!

With my RS Taichi Slim Fit full leather suit, Falco riding boots from Hodaka Motoworld, Dainese gloves from JR Pte Ltd and Arai full face helmet, it's my turn and I'm ready to test out the new Diablo Rosso II tyres fitted nicely onto the Honda CBR250, Kawasaki ZX250/300s.

Along with me are international media friends from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand. It's just great meeting people from different parts of the world but united with one passion - Riding.

Derived from the World Superbike testing and development, the road-oriented Diablo Rosso II comprises of three-zone dual compound tyres that offers advanced performance and longer lasting wear & tear rate.

Targeted for everyday riding, safety is increased with enhanced grip by EPT (Enhanced Patch Technology) as I've observed maximum contact between the tyres and tarmac.

It rained for a short while and that's where the thread of the tyre was tested. With Functional Groove Design (FGD), it proved to drain water better which is essential especially when we enter the monsoon season and are prone to skidding.

#LikeAboss
But of course, please do not forget to put a round of applause for the lady who came in 1st place in the Women's category of today's track session (Only because I happen to be the only female biker here). Hahaha :D

Shiokkk ahhh
Other than an ice cold isotonic drink, the next best thing to have after every lap session under the scorching sun is - AIR CON.

It's just so hot under all that heat, especially in the leather suit.

Interview by BTV News
I must say I'm really impressed at the whole event that Pirelli and their team has put together, and really appreciate them for always making sure we are well taken care of even paying attention down to the slightest details.

With @Zaihan from The New Paper
Overall, I feel that with daily riding, it's vital to enhance the safety of your bike by ensuring the quality of your tyres like the Diablo Rosso II as it's versatile enough by adapting well on road to weather conditions be it wet or dry, there is maximum grip, even in the corners.

The Diablo Rosso II are a set of tyres your daily commute bike will appreciate.

Much thanks to Pirelli, Hodaka Motoworld and the rest of the media crew who made this entire experience a wonderful one.

Till then, ride safe my fellas!
