Day 5 #MHS. Bangkok - Chiang Mai : 700KM To The Misty Mountains With Biker Chick Thailand, Anniie Prisana

The last time I met Anniie was in June, in Bangkok, when I was on my way to Tibet for #BeyondEverest. We did a shoot together for Liqui Moly and had a feast for lunch, of which I already felt SO honored getting to spend the whole afternoon with her and the rest of Biker Chicks Thailand.

This time, we're riding over 700KM together, straight from Bangkok to Chiang Mai!

Instead of her sporty orange KTM RC8, Anniie is rocking out in a BMW F800GS for this trip!

Whatever the ride, we ride together.
Funny how some bikers divide themselves according to the brand of bikes they ride.. and argue against who's bike's better.........

Setting off from Bangkok at the break of dawn, we traveled on Motorway AH2 and onto Route 347 towards Ayutthaya/Bang Pahan.

Traffic in Bangkok city started to build up as early at 6:00AM, but the roads were wide and clear once we ventured out of it. It's so therapeutic and relaxing to the soul watching the sun rise slowly, lighting the world around as we cruised at about 150KM/H.

Encountered quite a number of road works en route to Chiang Mai where single lanes had to share between two directional traffic. That slows down our riding time as traffic would build up in these areas, but overall it was still manageable. 

Anniie and I are about the same height but she's slimmer in built, and it's just amazing looking at the way she handle the majestic BMW F800GS with ease, despite it seemingly intimidating in size.

I don't think I could ever handle such a big bike as well as she does. But after observing for a while, I wouldn't mind giving it a try someday! 

Weather temperature started to drop gradually as we headed up North towards the province filled with pristine rainforest reserves, a splashing grandeur of waterfalls and an elephant sanctuary. 

Stopped by Tak for a short break and met up with some of Anniie's Thai biker friends (all riding superbikes) where we continued up to Chiang Mai together.

Upon entering into the town so highly talked about among seasoned travelers and my own biker friends, I am stunned in bewilderment at how different North and South Thailand can be. From the weather, to the pace of life, the roads and the landscapes, Chiang Mai is indeed a delight for adventurers. 

Who needs fine dining at a restaurant when we can chit chat and laugh over loads of delicious home cooked food over at Anniie's close friend's place! She's so hospitable.

And did I mentioned? She has a super cute dog. ALWAYS smiling and extremely mischievous.

After our early dinner, we headed to check into our humble abode where we wind down after a pretty long day of riding.

Thank you Anniie darling for taking care of us and riding together from Bangkok to Chiang Mai! It was so enjoyable. We part ways tomorrow as she heads on towards Chiang Rai to meet Biker Chicks Thailand (North) while I take on Mae Hong Son's 1,864 corners!
